Daniel – definitely not a baby anymore

Daniel is in that high growth/development stage. He’s starting to talk – ‘no’ is a firm favourite word! He’s also able to play and follow instructions like putting something in the bin, or helping with a game. He absolutely loves puzzles, much like Alex did. I find him emptying all of the different puzzles pieces out but the train one seems to be his favourite to complete. I even watched him pack it away the other day!

Daniel has seen Alex and I play Connect 4 often, and so when Alex is not stopping him, he asks for it from the shelf and starts to put the discs into it. He is usually pretty pleased with himself.

Daniel thinks he can do what Alex can do, and usually tries to join in on his fun. Alex is generally pretty encouraging about it and is getting less possessive about objects and toys. I don’t see Daniel favouring toys the way Alex did – he generally will play trains and cars because he sees Alex doing so. They take care of each other when I ask the to stay on the path as I open the car door (central locking out of order!). Daniel loves going for a swim whilst Alex is in his lesson. He doesn’t mind getting his face in the water at all – Alex always hated that until pretty much this year. Daniel is pretty easy going, sleeping whenever and wherever, he’s even overcome the car aversion. there is only one place I hate taking him – the library! He dashed from one shelf to another pulling out the books and laughing. It’s hard to keep up. So there are no plays on the computer for Alex, or storytimes. It’s in to drop off books, grab a few new ones and straight back out!
