Smashing and lightsabers

Our days are always good when we start with long cuddles. I always found morning rushes to be hard for Alex, he seems to need a bit of connection at the start of a day and prefers if he is first up! Daniel decided he wanted to smash, so I grabbed some scrap wood and the kid’s tool kit and they set to work! Alex used the chalk to decorate his as a snake. Then we set up the pool for a play too.

Alex went inside and played Dragonbox Algebra, first time in ages actually, and then watched some things whilst I played with Daniel. When Daniel slept Alex wanted to play battleships (new)and so I showed him how but we never finished a whole game.

At both coop and hs group park day this week Alex and his friends have indulged in lightsaber wars for hour after hour! Alex has been very tired this week, and complaining of growing pains too, and has fallen asleep on the couch and in the car a few times! At Brimbank, we headed down to the river once we dragged the kids away from their war and the little ones away from the sand pit. As the kids entered the water, one of them shouted “snake” and we saw what we believe to be a brown snake swimming upstream! It was captivating! Would gauge it as 1.5m which is pretty big for this snake.

The first task was to get over two boxes, one big one small anyway you could. After trying that the instructor removed the option of using knees, then removed all options except for feet. i was surprised that Alex managed to do both small and big boxes successfully! Clearly when he dresses appropriately he can manage these feats (his shorts are often too tight around his thighs). He of course loved the game of tag that followed. Our friends came home with us to play, mostly outside in the pool and on the climbing frame that they put on top of the pool! There were of course lightsaber wars. Alex fell asleep on the couch after they’d left!
