I had tickets to go to the MSO’s second family classics day. Alex was very interested in the orchestra and was looking keenly at all of the instruments. He also enjoyed the music when it started, but unfortunately Daniel did not feel the same way and so we left. Fortunately Vio was with us in the city, though not at the MSO, and we walked to get some lunch. We felt like dumplings and headed to China Town. We weren’t sure of our exact destination, but we spotted a queue forming just before 12pm outside a door in a laneway. We decided to join it and as 12pm rolled around we were let into a dumpling house. The place was full within minutes, and it was not small. The dumplings were fabulous! Alex loved the steamed vegetable the best if you would believe it! After that we jumped on a tram to the museum complex.
At the Royal Exhibition Building, Vio and Alex entered the Motor Classica show. Alex was very excited about seeing lamborghinis, though he was disappointed at not being able to get in one and drive it.
Daniel fell asleep on me, so I got to wander around the museum next door and look at the exhibits that the kids never want to go to. It was quite nice to take things at a steady pace, and have some piece. But of course it didn’t last (and neither would I want it to) and so Alex joined me in the museum whilst Vio went back for another look at the cars (apparently Alex rushed him, lol). Daniel woke and the kids played in the children’s section. They made a lego castle with some of the other kids. Then we played in the adjacent park, grabbed an ice cream and headed for home. Such a long day but so much fun.
