Alex has been counting down the weeks then days to camping for sooo long now. It’s finally here! We got all packed up and left much earlier than usual! We got to Healesville and set up camp. The Big4 there suits us perfectly – the kids have the jumping pillow, can play with other kids if they choose, we can have a campfire and there are also working toilets and showers 🙂
Alex had a few issues with some other kids. It’s hard being the kid on the outside of a bunch of friends. As it was school holidays, people were camping in groups. He was often excluded but I felt bad for him when he worked out that they were manipulating him through the game’s rules. He took it pretty well and tried to let it go but then it got the better of him. Fortunately he still likes the company of his parents. He was very happy to be making camp fires and playing in the games room with Vio and the evening set in.
We all got to bed early and were up early, it was quite refreshing! Saturday saw the whole day spent at the sanctuary. Alex had wanted to have a python encounter again, and so Vio took him in and got some great pictures. You can see the pure joy on his little face x
We also watched the birds of flight show which is amazing. Unfortunately the land of parrots was closed, so we just went to the animal hospital and played at the park as Alex didn’t want to see anything else.
