Alex has had lots of interest in planes, including paper planes and has been asking Vio to make him ‘the eagle’. I’ve also borrowed a book from the library with instructions on how to make different designs. He’s not so keen on making them himself, but I’ve tried a few and it’s been quite fun. I would like to get the movie ‘paper planes’ for him to watch but it’s not on Netflix yet.
Alex is asking to play ‘I spy’ a lot again, it’s often in the car. I hear him saying words quietly to himself, working out sounds. We’ve also played junior monopoly some more, and I’ve noticed that the maths is not very challenging nor the money very realistic. Aside fro the fun of playing, Alex is only really noticing the names of properties in written form. Perhaps time to upgrade to monopoly.
Football is over for another year! On getting home from presentation, we found our monthly organic pantry goods delivered. We broke it open to find I hadn’t ordered any goodies, lol, but Alex found his wraps. He told me that we had 20. I casually replied “we do?”, and he said that we did as we have four packs and each has five inside. Four five’s makes 20. Incidental, but meaningful maths!
We had a fabulous Sunday! We went to South Melbourne market, we do so roughly monthly, to buy fish and have lunch. We drove on to Caulfield as there was a model railway expo on. Well both boys were delighted by all of the trains, and we spent a few hours exploring the layouts and of course looking for the longest trains.
